The young students gathered one last time before summer break for a fun day and barbecue. They also managed to take advantage of the face painting that was offered. Most of the graduating three and four-year-olds will be off to junior kindergarten classes throughout Clarington in the fall. She says she fears for her life and the accused has threatened members of her family. She has asked police to lay charges and the police are investigating. On fire -- A vehicle parked in a driveway on Reg. Rd. 18 was destroyed by fire. There was some minor damage to house. Monday, June 23 Oops -- A truck carrying a forklift was travelling north bound on Reg. Rd. 57 when it snapped a cable television line. No one was hurt. Sunday, June 22 Investigating -- A Clarington resident reported to police that a male dropped off what turned out to be stolen property to his home. The police seized the property and are investigating investigating the incident. Saturday, June 21 Break and enter -- A representative representative of Durham Petroleum Cartage reported that between two and three o'clock in the morning, an unknown person kicked in the rear door to the business. The alarm scared off the suspect at the point of entry. Nothing is believed to have been taken, or disturbed. There were about $300 worth of damages. Sexual assault -- A 70- year-old Newcastle woman reported being sexually assaulted by a 65-year-old male friend from Oshawa. The incident took place on Thursday, June 19 at her home and is being investigated investigated by the Sexual Assault Unit of the Durham Regional Police Services. Knife wounds -- Two 18-year old males were the victims of two skirmishes that took place at a party on Farrow Road, Newcastle. The two young men sustained sustained minor knife wounds, police say.
