Van Winkle stroked a three-run dinger to left, to give them a 20-4 lead. Kendal had scored one run in the seventh to cut the lead to 20-5, before Phil Williamson took Orioles' pitcher Tom Kerwin over the left field wall for a grand slam. The game was called after the seventh due to the mercy rule. Line, who went 3-4 with five RBIs, and Wood, who went 4-4 with four RBIs and four runs scored, were the big hitters, but everybody got a hit and the pitching of Dao and Kerwin held Kendal's bat in check.
