The Clarington/Courtice Independent, Bowmanville. Saturday. July 5. 1997 Page 17 Moving Nightmare Story Worth $250 by Paddy Bateman Tne people at Allied are, quite naturally, concerned about what people think about moving companies. That's why they're planning on publishing a collection of stories about the worst household moves that people report to them throughout throughout this contest. They're also giving the person who, in the opinion of an independent panel of Allied's top move management foremen, had the worst possible move a check for $250.That won't make the' pain of the experience go away, but it might fund an evening to remember! The people who submit the next five most horrendous move experiences in the view of the panel will get an Allied Roadside Safety Kit that includes the necessities important important to you in the event of an emergency stop.. Everyone who enters their tale of woe in the contest will receive a copy of the new book of collected 'On The Move' columns, all of which are filled with useful, practical ' advice that may.help you miss some of the other pitfalls some have fallen prey to. And, of course, I'll be publishing some of the "best of the worst" in future columns. The story has to be true. The move has to have taken place in Canada. You have to include a copy of your receipt for the move as proof of the experience. experience. You must include your name, address and telephone number. Your story has to reach me by no later than August 15, 1997. While we'd prefer your troubled tale typed, neat handwriting handwriting is also okay, but no more than 500 words. Entries can be mailed, to me at 934 The East Mall, Etobicoke, ON M9B 6J9, or they can be faxed to (416) 621 - 3445. We'll be notifying the winners on September 15, 1997.
