Pheasant Hunt Allowed by Ministry The "Claringlon Game Commission" will once again be releasing Pheasants at "Kendal Crown Land" in cooperation with "Ministry of Natural Resources, Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters and the Municipality of Clarington." The Township licence is $50.00 and hunting periods are $10.00 per period. The licences will be limited to 300 for this year so get your licence early. They are available at "Rolph Hardware" downtown Orono after September 1st. An information sheet with map will be given out with the licence but, as a reminder, the Ontario Law requires blaze orange hat and 400 sq. inches above the waist - a vest - no mesh safety vests allowed. This event will have activities throughout the afternoon to entertain the kids as well as the adults. History In Action will start at 11:00 a.m. with the Steam Barn fully operational. Activities and demonstrations will continue throughout the day. Costumed volunteers will be in all buildings, baking, blacksmithing, and interpreting life in the 1800's. There will be lots of samples to try, and activities to take part in. The Village will host a variety variety of demonstrations and displays, displays, including honey extraction, extraction, showing you where fresh honey comes from - see the honeycomb, and sample fresh honey.
