Animal Shelter Raises $38,756 as of July 31 During the months of June and July, 54 dogs and 76 cats were taken to Clarington's Animal Shelter. By the end of July, 22 dogs and four cats had been retrieved by their owners, while 25 dogs and 53 cals had been sold to residents. Also, five dogs and 10 cats had to be eulhanised for a variety of reasons, including injuries, and humane reasons. Two dogs and nine cats were dead on arrival at the shelter. Over the two months, 20 written warnings were handed out and there were 10 convictions for animal- related bylaw bylaw infractions. In June and July, $3,983 was raised from selling dog licenses. The animal shelter's total revenue for June and July was $6,321. That brings this year's total to $38,756. Join the Adventure! The weekend for the Durham Countryside Adventure has arrived.
