On both Saturday, September 20, and Sunday September 21, IGA stores will be participating in the Kraft Kidcare program. At the Bowmanville store, volunteers from the RCMP will be fingerprinting fingerprinting children and volunteers from Durham Regional Police will be doing the photographs on both days. The photos, fingerprints and other identifying information will be placed in a "passport" which parents can keep on file. The RCMP will also be running a barbecue barbecue during the event and the fire department will be on hand with safely information and Sparky the Fire Dog. It all takes place right in front of the store and everyone is welcome. Hours arc 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both days. ANIMAL SHELTER DAY AT ZOO -- Saturday, September 20, is "Clarington Animal Shelter Day" at the Bowmanville Zoo. Everyone is invited to join the Clarington Animal Advisory Committee in support of their community animal shelter, from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. There will be information on animal issues, and pictures of the proposed new Animal Shelter will be on display. Visitors will also be able to enjoy all the regular attractions of Canada's oldest privately owned zoo, which features animals from around the globe. Bowmanville Zoo will be donating all of the day's admission proceeds to the Clarington Animal Shelter. SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 21 LEGION WEEK BEGINS WITH PANCAKE BREAKFAST -- The Bowmanville Legion invites everyone to sit down to a delicious delicious pancake breakfast Sunday, September 21, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. It's all part of Legion Week which begins this Sunday and runs until Saturday, September 27. Also on Sunday is a Roast Beef Dinner which commences with refreshments at 5 p.m. and dinner at 6 p.m. Among the other Legion Week events is a Euchre/Lunch on Monday, September 22, at 7:30; a Cribbagc/Lunch at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 23rd, and a bingo on Wednesday, September 24, at 7:30 p.m. There is also a Spaghetti Dinner Thursday; a Pub Night on Friday; an Open Darts Tournament with "Blind Draw" on Saturday, September 27; and also a meat roll on' Saturday, September 27. WINE-TASTING ASSISTS YOUTH CENTRE -- Archibald Orchards and Estate Winery is hosting a barbecue and wine tasting event on Sunday, September 21st from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. In addition to the barbecue the fund-raiser will include wagon rides, tours of the orchard, wine tasting and live entertainment. All proceeds will be donated to the Clarington Youth Centre.
