Hobbs The years from 1989-97 have been a time of enormous enormous change at the senior school on Taunton Road. These changes involved administration teaching staff, non-teaching staff, feeder schools and programs. Our most capable and industrious secretary, Pcggy-Jo Mairs, passed away in November 1989. She had been in the main office of the school since 1966. Sue Bcacock came to M.J. Hobbs to efficiently head the office staff. Warren Brown was the principal from 1989 until December 1990 when lie was able to transfer closer to his home in Castlcton. Ron Tuttle, who had gone to Dr. Emily Stowe as vice-principal, returned to Hobbs as principal, a position he held until June 1993. Carol Yco currently the school's principal became the chief administrator. administrator. During these years the Vice-principal's office was administered by Susan Mcdd, Cheryl Brown, Howard McCourl, Bob Prole and currently Philip Palmer. Neil Gifford retired from his custodian duties and Ken Miller is currently keeping the school shining with the help of Greg Stcrc. Through the eight years the retirees have been, Harvey Webster (93), Joan Smith (94), King Baker (96) and Nancy Rac (96). This of course, paved the way for new additions, some of whom were, Brad Sainsbury, Julie Haar, and Burke Lush. Sylvia Amesbury retired as Gr. 7 French teacher and Lori Brooks has capably filled that role. The progressive change to K-8 schools by North Courtice and S. T. Worden has affected the population of Hobbs. Lynn Lowe who was at Hobbs as an Educational Assistant has been the only former graduate on staff, however teachers, Store, Wagcnaar (Osborne), Dionne (Walters) arc graduates of The Pines while Sainsbury and Lush are Bowmanviilc products. Activities and achievements also made these years interesting.
