The phone service has been in existence for a year now but was only available in the wheelchair accessible car of each train. Due to demand from GO passengers, three companies companies have joined to bring service to every GO Transit rail- car. An official launch of the phone service was held September 23 and 24, 1997 at Union Station. Telavail, GO Transit and Bell Mobility have joined forces to offer the scr- • vice. Each railcar has a credit card mobile telephone located next to'one set of doors. The phone is activated by sliding a major credit card through a card reader attached to the • phone.
