Page 10 The Claringlon/Courlicc Independent, Bowmanville, Saturday, October 4,1997 "Go For The Gold" 1997 The annual "Go for the Gold" competition was held at Blackstock United Church on July 31st, 1997 at 7:30 p.m. There were 8 teams participating and these included 1) Forestry, 2) Field Crops, 3) Horse, 4) Woodworking, 5) Dairy I, 6) Dairy II, 7) Sheep, 8) Swine. Each team has 4 members members chosen from the club. The team must have one novice, one junior, one senior and one other. The questions that they must answer arc made up from the projects currently running running in 1997. The projects may not be currently running running in our county so this adds to the challenge for the contestants. Each Team played 2 games, with the top four teams advancing to the semi-finals and then the top two teams advancing to the finals. The Gold Medal winners winners for 1997 The Woodworking Club - Heather Malcolm, Meghan Kyte, Adam Stapley and Kyle Vernest. The Silver Medal winners winners for 1997 - The Forestry Club - Brad Found, Katharine Found, Joshua Bowman and Jessica Morton. The Regional Team is coached by Tom Barrie.
