Feral Child Wins Battle of the Bands After being rained out the first time, the Durham Central Agricultural Society and "Launch 97" crowned a winner in the talent search for young musical entrepreneurs at the Orono Fairground on Saturday, Oct. 18. Following a showdown against semi-finalists Accident Prone, judges declared Bowmanville's gothic metal band Feral Child, the winner. The group was awarded $500 from the Durham Central Agricultural Society which will go towards the production of a CD. Once the CD is complete, complete, a feature article and music review will be done by SEEN magazine, a Durham- based Internet magazine. Recording lime was donated by LB Music and the band will get further support from Hampton- based Zounds Good Promotions. Photography and reference books were donated by Zona Canada. Ollier valuable assistance came from Hands-On Music Co., Ted's Basement Music, Nancy Davidson's Vocal Coaching, Spccdlinc Canada, and Sanyo Canada.
