Mike Bilsky, of Old Scugog Road, asked coun cillors to look into the the problem. Bilsky told Clarington's Planning Committee Monday that most of the residents on the north- south road through the village village have experienced some kind of problems with traffic. "People put the pedal to the metal when they go through Enniskillen," he said. "They sec the road ahead and, for them, it's an School Board Approves "No Cost" Agreement With Elementary Teachers Elementary school teachers with the Northumberland/Clarington School Board have a new contract. The one-year collective agreement was approved by the board at a meeting October 16th. The new deal applies from September 1, 97 to August 31, 98. According to a media release from the school board, the contract highlights highlights include: implementation implementation of a previously agreed salary increase, with a reduced staff complement, to achieve "no cost" to the board; and introduction of payment for LTD insurance by teachers to be consistent with the Peterborough County Board of Education. The new deal brings the salary of a teacher with no experience (and lowest level of qualifications) from $28,840 to $29,710. The salary for a teacher with no experience but with highest level of qualifications goes from $35,780 to $36,860; and the salary for a teacher with over 12 years experience experience and maximum qualifications qualifications goes from $63,060 to 64,960. Board Chair Bob Willsher said: "The agreement agreement with 864 elementary teachers marks the final collective collective agreement to be negotiated by this board prior to a move to a new district district school board structure effective January 1,1998. Trustees have worked hard to build positive relationships relationships with all employee groups.
