The Canadian Statesman, Bowmanville, December 3,1997 Section Two Page5 Selina News by Harvey Yellowlees We flatter those we scarcely know, and please our fleeting guests, but render many a heartless blow to those we love the best. The purpose of education education is to replace an empty mind with an open one. The snow is all gone and we're waiting for some fresh? Our rural bowlers had an interesting night on Tuesday. That Hampton team, must be slowed down. They now have 43 points, then Newtonshaw 36, Solina 30, then my team with 32 (I didn't know I had a team, but if I have I'll work on them from now on), Hi C's 18 and Courtice 4. The 50-50 draw was won by Lloyd Broome (another Solina player). Wednesday night at Hampton there wasn't a big crowd, but a good time was reported. Winners were High - Vivian Barrett 79, Alvin Spenser 76, Pat Simpson 74, Muriel Butson 73, Rod Simpson 72. Low Marg Hall 46.
