Richards Office Supervisor-Angela Luscher,Junia Hodge, Grace McGregor, Nancy Pleasance-Sturman, Marilyn Rutherford, Libby Smithson Firefighters Recognized for Completing Extra Training Clarington's full-time firefighting staff was recognized by the Office of the Provincial Fire Marshal last month for completing the first of a three-part instructional instructional program on fire suppression. Southern Region Acting Manager Bruce Gougeon presented each of the 28 firefighters and captains with a certificate recognizing recognizing their achievement. Clarington is only the second fire department in Ontario to complete the curriculum's first phase. The three-part initiative sets standards standards and benchmarks which a crew member must meet, both academically and physically. Newcastle Man Grabs Intruder Crimestoppers Looking for Suspects in Break-In Wednesday, December 10th Bill 160 Meeting Crime Stoppers and Durham Regional Police arc asking for your help in solving a Residential Break and Enter which occurred on Rcsnik Drive in Newcastle, on November 20th of this year. During the early morning morning hours, the victim while investigation his dog barking, barking, observed a party attempting a forced entry through a window of the family residence. On checking the front exterior of his home, the complainant complainant observed a male intruder exiting the residence residence garage. While attempting to restrain the suspect to avoid his escape, the victim was approached by the second suspect who was acting as a lookout on the street. Having broken free from the victim's hold, both culprits culprits fled the area, running eastbound on Resnik Drive. Suspect #1 - male, white, 18 years of age, 5'10", dark hair, wearing baseball cap and dark coloured jacket. Suspect #2 - male, white, 5'7", wearing grey hooded cloth parka, approximately 18 years old. Crime Stoppers will pay a cash reward for any information that leads to an arrest in this incident.
