Maybe we won't need it! Sympathy is extended to Ross Poolcy and the Brent families on the loss of Mae Pooley. Mrs. Poolcy was a quiet gracious lady, and she will be missed. Congratulations to Dave and Sarah Henry on the birth of their baby boy, a brother for Emily. Best wishes to Mrs. Edna Philp on her upcoming upcoming ninety-first birthday. She reminds, us of the Energizer "bunny - just keeps going and going and going. What an example for the rest of us! Better health is wished for Bob Cameron, who has been in hospital, and indeed for all those who are ill this Christmas season. The'John Vaneyks spent part of two days last week at the Ontario Federation of Agriculture Convention. We listened to varying opinions on the state of agriculture and the rural municipalities, as well as comments from the federal minister. Always an interesting interesting part of any gathering is talking to farmers from other parts of Ontario. Bethcsda Cemetery has a new secretary-treasurer in the person of Lynne Piggott of Enniskillen. The work of the board has been re-orga- nized using committees, and to purchase interment rights, you now call Ted Brock or Cheryl Lcpard. Tyrone Senior Citizen's group enjoyed their annual Christmas dinner and program program last Wednesday. By the time you read this Club 60 Plus will have had their dinner. Both meals were provided by the UCW. Tyrone church had a good crowd for their pollack supper and hayride Kirby United Hosts Carol Sing Myno VanDyke, police instructor at Durham College, was the guest speaker at Kirby United Church for an informal evening service on November 30th. His topic was Policing and Ethics. Musical entertainment for the evening was provided provided by the Bells of Bowmanvillc, who make music with handbells. Kirby United Church invites everyone to enjoy a special Christmas music concert this Sunday, December 14th, at 7 p.m. A variety of vocalists and instrumentalists will be featured as well as carolsinging, carolsinging, People may bring a freewill offering. Refreshments will be available, The church is located at the corner of Hwy. 115 and County Road #9. on Sunday evening. The singing was enjoyed by several people in the village, village, and the people on the wagon enjoyed the light displays up and down the street! This weekend will see the annual Christmas pageant in the church on Sunday morning. As well, there will be a mitten tree and food and other gifts received for the Salvation Army. Sunday evening at 6:30 p.m.- in the community centre, there will be a combined combined presentation of Enniskillen and Tyrone churches. This is always lots of fun as well as being very meaningful. Everyone is invited to come. If you can bring food or a cash donation for Bethcsda House, or a bit of cash toward the community centre, centre, it would be appreciated. Christmas is not fun and games for everyone, especially especially those who have lost loved ones or who are fac ing difficulties.
