Lovely sunny weather for Easter weekend but still quite cool. There were 2000 eggs given away at the Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday. Mrs. Denise Warren, Amanda and Corey, from Peterborough were Easter holiday visitors with her parents the Challiccs. Well, Orono really gave Ron White "Sparky" a moving farewell. Service was held in Orono United Church and the casket was carried on the lire truck to interment in Orono Cemetery. The procession was filmed and shown on C.H.E.X. Peterborough station. "Sparky" had lived in Orono for 35 years. At the recent U.C.W. executive meeting, held Monday, April 6 plans were made for our upcoming upcoming U.C.W. Spring General Meeting, Thursday, April 30th Pot luck dinner. The speaker will be a representative representative of Avicarc. Also our big event "Spring Bazaar and Tea" is on Saturday, May 2. We will have a full slate of events: bake sale, clothing boutique, books, plants, white elephant and tea room, etc. We have already four handmade quilt and loads of goodies! Easter Events Keep Orono Hopping Saturday Morning Grant Whallcy, age one and one-half, meets the Easter Bunny during a hunt for Easter Eggs at the Orono Library on Saturday morning. The Easter fun in Orono also included a visit from a clown and other special events in the Town Hall.
