A delicious lunch served to all and a draw for a lovely decorated tray, donated by Joyce Cowan, closed a very enjoyable evening. . Mrs. Dale Ferrier and Milton, Peterborough were Sunday luncheon guests of the Challiccs and Dale stayed for a few days. Fiddle Champion Entertains Horticulture Society Mark Sullivan, Canada's under-18 champion in performing traditional fiddle music, entertained members of the Orono Horticultural Society last Thursday, April 16th. Our guest artist Mark Sullivan, Bowmanville presented an excellent program program of violin and his father accompanied him on guitar and Doreen Lowery on piano. Mark is Canadian Champion Fiddler under 18 years of age and he received a standing ovation from the audience. A lovely show of house plants, violets and arrangements arrangements was on display and also a plant sale. Excellent reports from Sunday Church, Orono United, with guest soprano from Toronto. Her singing was lovely. It's amazing how the tulips, daffodils, crocus etc arc already in bloom and almost 2 weeks arc left in April. There were 10 members of Orono Horticulture Club who travelled to Uxbridge Saturday, April 18 for district district convention. It was a fun day for all present and a good Bower and plant show. "A Time To Bloom' At Kendal United Church Phyllis Tamlin will be the inspirational speaker at a special program for ladies, "A Time To Bloom" being held at Kendal United Church, Kendal, on Wednesday, May 6 at 7:30 p.m. Special music will be provided by Alma Kingyens. Phyllis is a licenced lay preacher in The United Church of Canada, a member of the regional executive of Aglow of Canada and a special needs teacher. Alma is a former club singer who switched to Country Gospel in the early 1980s. Both women have dynamic and enthusiastic ministries to share with all who will participate.
