Wallace A lifelong resident of Enfield, R. Wallace Pascoe passed away in the Memorial Hospital Hospital in Bowmanville, after a brief illness, on February 3, 1998, in his 93rd year. He was born at Enfield, Ontario Ontario on October 11,1905, to Leslie and Mary Helen Pascoe and attended Enfield Enfield School and later the Hemphill Mechanical Institute Institute in Toronto. For a few years he operated a Ford dealership in Brussels, Brussels, Ontario in partnership with his brother-in-law, Godfrey Bowman. There he met and married, in 1935, Ina Cunningham, who predeceased predeceased him in 1986. After his marriage he returned returned home to Enfield, where he farmed until 1964. At that time he sold his farm, but retained an acre where he built the home he resided in until his death. For several years following his retirement from farming he was employed as a night watchman at Darlington Provincial Provincial Park. A keen conservationist, conservationist, he was for many years the treasurer of the Darlington Game Commission, Commission, and also a Deputy Game Warden for the Department Department of Lands and Forests. Forests. Music was an Integral part of his life. Even In his final year he entertained his greatgrandchildren greatgrandchildren with his violin, harmonica, and concertina. In his younger days he and his sister Dorothy provided the music at many local dances, and he played the coronet and euphonium in bands in Brussels. In his later years he greatly enjoyed enjoyed playing his violin at various nursing homes with his old men's orchestra, "the Hammer, Pick and Saw" comprised of Orville Ashton - piano, Len Stainton - guitar, and himself. A lifelong member of Enfield United Church, he served in various capacities, including that of Treasurer and Sunday Sunday School Superintendent. He leaves his daughters Marion and her husband Tom Pearson, Evelyn and her husband Carl Sargent', 1 grandchildren Elaine Burns, Garth Davey, Tim and Sharyn Sargent, Scott and Matthew Sargent, greatgrandchildren greatgrandchildren Stephynle, Bruce, Daniel and Melyssa Sargent and sisters Helen Beaton, Elizabeth Mellow and the late Dorothy Bowman.
