A baby sister for Zachery. The Enniskillen U.C.W. arc having a Yard and Bake Sale and a Tea Room on Saturday, June 6th. Please start saving your articles lo make this a good sale. On June 14th the Annual Church Picnic will be held al Enniskillen Conservation area at 10:30 a.m. Bring lawn chairs, games, balls, gloves, plates and cutlery. Folks from Enniskillen will bring dessert and Tyrone will bring first course. We will provide coffee, coffee, tea and cold drinks. Worship will begin at 10:30. We arc beginning to think about our 2nd Annual B.B.Q. on the Saturday of the Labour Day weekend. If you have an idea wc should investigate for the B.B.Q., a social event or a fundraiser please call Jill Haskins or any member of the board. Wc would like to convey our congratulations to Mrs. Marion Parsons (nee Orchard) on reaching a milestone milestone of 99 years young. Marion is a patient in Strathaven. Marion was my mother's music teacher and lived in the home now owned by Floyd Beckett. Guides Advancement Ceremony The Enniskillen Girl Guides of the Darlington District held their annual banquet and "Advancement" ceremony at the Tyrone Community Centre on April 29, 1998. It was rewarding to sec the good turn out of girls and their parents. The evening began with a brief history of Guiding in the Enniskillen area. It is interesting to note that Girl Guides have been active for 23 years. In 1975,- the 1st Enniskillen Girl Guide unit was formed and Mrs. Ruth McGill was the first Guider. It is wonderful to sec how Girl Guides have continued to grow! The Color Party was formed by a Spark, Brownie and a Guide carrying in the Canada Flag, Brownie Flag and the World Flag of Guiding. This was followed by the singing of "O' Canada". Following the dinner, was the "Advancement" ceremony ceremony in which those girls who completed their program requirements were honored and presented with their advancement pins and certificates. certificates. A presentation was made to the Commissioner of the Darlington District, Mrs. Patricia Howard who completed completed her three-year term as commissioner. Girl Guides of Canada is a volunteer organization organization and leaders are always needed. For anyone who is interested in helping, please contact Mrs. Howard (905) 579-1399. Thank you to all the Guiders who planned and organized the banquet and ceremony. It was a grand finale to a wonderful year of Guiding; Dana Bortolazzo ami the Parent Committee for arranging the banquet ami the fundraising efforts over the year; Daneo Building Services who paid for the hail rental.
