School Board's Name is Official The district school board was informed May 20 that its proposed name of "Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board" has been formally approved by the Ministry of Education and Training. The approval is retroactive retroactive to May 14. This Smile Theatre musical production begins at 7:30 p.m. Hydro Reducing Effluents From Darlington Plant Ontario Hydro is seeking Program Approval from the Ontario Ministry of the Environment (MOE) to complete modifications at its nuclear stations to bring certain effluents from these stations into compliance with the Effluent Monitoring and Effluent Limits - Electric Power Generation Sector Regulation (O. Reg 215/95) as soon as possible. The regulation was introduced under the Municipal Industrial Strategy for Abatement (MISA) program of the MOE and covers effluents that are non-radioactivc. Radioactive emissions arc regulated by the Atomic Energy Control Board under the Atomic Energy Control Act and arc well below requirements. However, the Radioactive Liquid Waste Management System at Darlington has non-radioactivc effluents that need to be reduced. These system improvements will be completed by December 31, 1998. In addition, there are some sumps at Darlington that need further study to determine how they can best meet the MISA requirements. requirements.
