The week is designed to heighten awareness awareness of the benefits of student student hiring and to encourage employers and homeowners to hire students for fulltime, fulltime, part-time or casual work. The week begins Monday, June 15 on Hire a Student day and lasts until Friday, June 19. Monday is declared nationally and throughout each municipality in Durham region as "Hire a Student" day. Tuesday and Thursday are entitled "seniors and students students unite". These days were planned to thank seniors for their support of the Student Centre, as many seniors hire students to cut their lawns or help with work around their houses. It is felt that we can lcam from one another and this increased understanding can only positively impact on society at large. : On Wednesday, June 17, the Human Resource Centre for Students will be holding a "Jail N' Bail" in Bowmanville. The purpose of this event is to use the influence of celebrities who have been kidnapped to raise awareness to the issues of student unemployment, while at the same time urging urging them to get three job listings before being released. Among those who will be attempting to round up jobs for the Student Centre will be Adriane Vogel of KX 96. To conclude Hire a Student week, the three offices in Durham Region will be demonstating to students students how not to dress for an interview while at the same time offering students the opportunity to be interviewed interviewed at any one of our offices.
