The events begin at 9 a.m. daily and include a rare breed show and a display by the Durham Regional Police Canine Unit. Admission is free. You can also meet the breeders and browse at the pet boutiques or take in a local art exhibit. BOWMANVILLE OPTIMIST CLUB -- The Bowmanvillc Optimist Club is again running a car wash. Fashion show Wins Dance Scholarship The Jean Simone School of Dance proudly announces that one of their competition students, Miss Katie Hossack, is the recipient of the "Alien- Pastor Trophy and Peel Music Festival Scholarship." These awards were presented by the Peel Music Festival to "the most promising novice dancer at the Festival" for excellence in dance performances. The Dance School has attended this two-week competition for the past 9 years. Hundreds of dancers across Ontario participate and the Festival awards 27 special awards and scholarships. Katie is a fourth year student with Jean Simone School of Dance and has been a competition dancer lor the past two years, Under the tutelage of Miss Jean Simone, the 8 year old dancer has proven to be a skilled performer in Ballet, Jazz and Tap, co-ordinated by Monica Rose Fashions.
