The popular popular summer shows have returned for 12 great evenings of entertainment. The musical menu for the outdoor summer concerts ranges from bagpipes to brass, with helpings of Celtic, vocal, honky-tonk, piano and children's music too. On Thursday, June 18, the Lincolnaircs will be performing. The show are always rain or shine, and admission is free. Bethesda House Holds Car Rally Be sure to mark Saturday, June 27 on your calendar. That's the date Bethesda House has set for a car rally to take place throughout the streets of Clarington. For those unfamiliar with the concept of a car rally, it involves following directions to travel a specific specific route. Along the way participants must find clues, solve riddles and meet silly criteria. The rally does not require any special driving skills and participants must adhere to the regular speed limits. This event is a wonderful way to explore the scenic countryside of Clarington, use some problem-solving skills and have a thoroughly thoroughly enjoyable day. The first cars will head out 10 a.m. Cost per person person is $15.00. Included in the cost arc door prizes, refreshments in the morning morning and a barbecue at the end of the day. "Artsrama Night" at Clarke and The Pines Clarke High School and The Pines Senior Public School have had many joint, activities throughout the school year but one of the biggest was Artsarama niglil 1998. The schools combined fheir talents for a musical showcase On May 13 students from The Pines and Clarke joined together to show off their many talents to the public and to family and friends. The night consisted consisted of The Pines Band and Choir, along with Clarke's Junior Band, Senior Band, Jazz Band and Flute Choir as well as well as many desserts during the intermission. intermission. The night also consisted of some solos performed by students from The Pines and Clarke. The soloists were Katie Rutherford from The Pines and Megan Crookshank, Sarah Leney and Colin Kaji from Clarke. Many thanks goes to Mr. Sharp, Ms. Fortin, Mrs. Hoad and Mrs. Armstrong for a night that was enjoyed by all. On June 11th, The Pines Senior Public School Band and Choir travelled to Canada's Wonderland for a fun- filled day. Their day consisted consisted of performing a concert concert and listening to' the many other bands and choirs, as well as trying out all the rides and games in the park. The Concert Band played three numbers, numbers, the Jazz Band played two and the choir sang one song. The grade 8's from The Pines arc looking forward to Graduation on June 22. As the school year is winding down both The Pines and Clarke arc looking looking forward to the many more joint activities coming coming up for next year.
