Show producer Karen Cox said the art show and the dog show shared billing on all promotional material. The annual show in the area would fill a void between Cobourg and Buckhorn where there are already established art . shows She estimated the combined combined draw for the two events would be about 6,000 people. • "The location off Hwy. 115 is ideal," says Cox. An annual show in this area would fill a void between Cobourg and Buckhorn where there are already established summer art shows, Orono ArtFest was modeled after an similar festival that the Rotary Club of Port Perry hosted for about ten years but has since discontinued. That show featured 70 artists and drew thousands. Griffin Scott said the artists invited to display their works at the Orono Bonnie Scigliano figured she had the perfect product for a weekend event in Orono that drew both art lovers and dog breeders. Her quality line of plush dog toys, featuring featuring practically every breed, was a nice addition to ArtFest and the Ontario County Kennel Club dog trials. FURNITURE DESIGNER -- Furniture maker Joe Lorincz relaxes in a big rocker, one of several distinctive solid wood chairs, tables and benches he had on display at the Orono ArtFcst last weekend. Lorincz was among eighteen exhibitors showcasing their works at the Orono arena. Organizers plan to make the show an annual event. ArtFcst were notable of their professionalism. "We wanted to keep the calibre on the high side," she said, "We preferred to start small rather than fill the arena with amateurs and a lot of junk." As far as purchasing art, you don't have to be an art critic. The rule of thumb is listen to your instincts. "Go with what appeals to you, because you will have it for a lifetime." Grant r.p.t. Golf, Physiotherapy & Low Back Pain QUESTION: Telma, I get a lot of low back pain and it is starting to interfere with my golf game. How can physiotherapy physiotherapy help me? This is one of the most common complaints we get from our golf players. The position at the address phase puts a lot of strain on the back because the position itself demands a very strong and flexible back. We offer a detailed evaluation to the golfer. First we look at the body alignment, a major factor In determining if someone will develop low back pain. If you observe someone standing at the address phase you should find squared hips, shoulders and a relatively straight spine angle from the base of the spine to the top of the head should be one straight line. Unfortunately the majority of golfers have a dropped right shoulder, a higher right hip and a very round back, This is not the optimal alignment for golf. The analogy for this Is Instead of having a car that steers straight, you have a car that always steers a little little off all the time. That is going to affect the way your car handles and It is also going to affect your golf game, Thus alignment Is one of the most important important assessments. The solution is to find the chronic muscle spasm that is holding the body in this position and correct the alignment problem through releasing these tight muscle muscle spasms. We do this with a medical medical modality called the Electro-Acuscope and we follow up with a home program program of self-administered treatment. Then, stretching and strengthening exercises exercises are done over a gymnastic gymnastic ball. I'll also design a program of golf-specific exercises customized for each patient. After these 12 visits the golfer is usually usually free of pain and playing playing in top form. If your back pain is interfering with your golf game, see your physiotherapist physiotherapist about a treatment program specifically for golf Injuries.
