New Name for Hospital Volunteers Association of Hospital Volunteers Bowmanville. That is the new name to replace: Auxiliary to Memorial Hospital Bowmanville. The new name was confirmed at the Association's annual meeting earlier this month. "Planning for the name change has been ongoing' for the past two years," explains June Hunter, Association President. The role of volunteers in the Hospital has been changing, particularly with the influx of new volunteers volunteers to assist with ventures ventures like Perk Central, the Association's coffee kiosk, work in various Hospital departments and other special special events. Auxiliary members traditionally work in the; Gift Shop, on Tag Days and in the New-. to-You Shoppe. The new Volunteer Association combines the membership of the former Auxiliary and the volunteers, bringing bringing the total to approximately approximately 300 people. Mrs. Hunter emphasizes emphasizes that while the name has changed, the work of volunteers at the Bowmanville hospital will continue. "We provide valuable services to the Hospital and we are proud of the contribution our volun teers make in virtually every aspect of the Hospital's operation," says Mrs. Hunter. "It was time to look at bringing all our volunteers under one umbrella organization."
