They showed that practice makes perfect as they out-lasted all the other contestants. The judges had to ask them move the hula hoops on one foot to break the tie and determine the winner. Bowmanville's historic downtown was the place to go this past weekend, especially if you enjoy seeing athletes compete for top volleyball honors on courts made of real beach sand. Lots of teams took part in what has become an annual event at the Fabulous Fifties Sidewalk Sale. BARGAINS FOR ALL! -- There were plenty of bargains bargains as the downtown merchants moved their inventories inventories into the streets of Bowmanville. All the merchants joined in to create what one could call a treasure trove for bargain-hunters. HARD-WORKING CLOWN -- Tootles the Clown was fashioning balloon animals during the festivities in downtown Bowmanville all day on Saturday. Plenty of kids could be seen walking along with balloon balloon dogs, cats, and swords after having visited Tootles. A DIFFERENT KIND OF FUN -- These gents are looking with appreciation at a 1931 Plymouth owned by Harry Savage. There were dozens of classic cars parked on the north side of King Street on Saturday, June 20. Some of the more popular vehicles proved to be the so-called muscle cars and the racing machines. Everyone wanted to get a closer look at their engines. HOT JUGGLING -- Juggler extraordinarc Craig AFTER THE SPLASH DOWN -- It may have looked Douglas excited the crowd at the 3rd Annual Clarington like a ton of rubber ducks had just dropped from the sky, Rubber Duck Derby between duck dumps. These three luit actually they had only been dumped over the side of youngsters: Jessy, Brittany and Adam, held up Douglas the Highway Two bridge.
