The name becomes effective once the Port Pcrry/Uxbridgc; Oshawa; Bowmanville and Whitby hospitals merge to form a single unit. The newsletter from the steering committee responsible for the amalgamation amalgamation says a number of factors were considered in the selection. The name reflects the geography and the region served. A short name, which could be applied consistently to all hospital sites was also sought. If you live in an area where summer temperatures and humidity are high, take care. Your body's cooling process will not work as efficiently in these conditions. You will tire easily and your heart works harder. Drink plenty of fluids. Avoid caffeine and alcohol-containing beverages which can dehydrate the body. You can also' reduce your protein and fat intake. These foods increase the body's heat production. Eat more fruits and veggies. And avoid prolonged exertion in this weather.
