This dedicated group of singers and musicians musicians delighted the crowd with an upbeat selection of songs. "A Day in the Life of Clarinaton" Photo Contest Kicks Off July 15th A DC 25 Kodak digital camera will be offered as first prize in the "Day in the Life of Clarington" photo competition which runs July 15 to 31. The camera, which is valued at $400, will be donated by Lange Foto Source. The top 25 pictures selected from the contest will also be eligible for a draw for a cash prize of ; $250. The contest will be leading up to the 25th anniversary celebration on January 1st, 1999. It's a time for celebration and reflection on the special place and time that is Clarington now. And, the public, both residents and visitors, arc invited to play a very special part in the development of a perma- -nent photographic record of Clarington. "We plan a "Day in the Life of Clarington" Photo Contest" which actually allows for photo taking at any time between July 15 and July 31, said Jennifer Cooke, Marketing Officer. "We hope the public will sit down and plan some very different shots of family, friends, pets, scenery, action, or whatever whatever else they feel delivers for the years ahead what Clarington is all about at this single point in time." A complete set of rules and guidelines is available at the Clarington Administrative Centre or Tourism Office. Questions can be directed to (905) 623-3379. A $5 entry fee will be used to fund Community events during 1999. Photos entered in the contest should be submitted submitted to the Tourism Office at 181 Liberty St. S., Bowmanville or to the Marketing and Tourism Office at the Town Hall in Bowmanville. Every person entering a photograph will receive a special Certificate that indicates their involvement. involvement. Also, the 25 best photographs, broken into professional, amateur and visitor categories, will receive a copy of the cof fee table publication "A Day in the Life of Canada." "We thank Equion Securities Canada Ltd. for their community spirit in supplying these prizes" said Cooke, and "we also thank 'Lange's Foto Source' in Bowmanville, for offering the first 100 families a single single use camera at just $5 so as many as possible can get involved." In addition, Lange's will offer a 50% discount on the film processing for those who purchase the single-use cameras.
