First, they have an extraordinary aversion to and squeamishness squeamishness about killing. Yet, it should be plain to anyone with the minimum of intelligence that killing is a quick and practical solution to many world problems. Some of the more decisive leaders of history have shown this. Secondly, they have this extraordinary notion that there is some deity or creator who has given us humans (homo sapiens) guidelines and commandments. commandments. A tentative agreement readied last week was ratified ratified by nurses and VON representatives representatives on July 21. The terms of the ratified agreement include a wage freeze and a mileage allowance of 17 cents for the first 2,500 kilometres per year and 20 cents for all kilometres exceeding 2,500. The agreement also covered covered vacation pay, statutory holidays, and pensions and health benefits. The document also states that VON cannot contract out or assign the work of registered practical nurses to anyone other than RPNs. In a press conference, Angie Jones, President of the Practical Nurses Federation of Ontario, stated "our nurses readied an agreement after holding the line in solidarity and taking a stand against VON." She also noted PNFO nurses ratified ratified the agreement for the sake of client care. She said The Sinking Canadian Dollar such as Lenin or Voltaire, scoffed at such an idea. I know that you might argue that when most abortions are done, about 6 to 12 weeks of fetal life, the fetus is well developed, developed, feeling pain, moving limbs, etc. or, that the mother usually has entirely entirely different feelings about her pregnancy a little later on, but society soon gets inured to killing, providing providing that those in the news media do not publish what really goes on in an abortion abortion or what the fetus is really like at that time. Yours truly, Jack L. Foster about our future, to our local Council, would go a long way in seeing this happen in the more immediate immediate future. In closing, should the need arise, we hope that we may count on you for your help in tliL, regard. Yours very truly, Ron Hooper Chairman Board of Management Bowmanville B.l.A. How low can the loonic go? Most of us could care less. After all, how many of us engage in international currency transactions? I low many can benefit from trips south to avoid the Canadian winters? How much of our diet can he related to imported imported citrus fruits? There are benefits. Cars produced in Osliawa, (when they arc not on strike), obviously obviously have a significant competitive competitive advantage. Canada is an exporting country, (over 40% of our GDP is related to trade), this sector is receiving a huge lift because of the falling dollar. In my own mind, the Canadian dollar is significantly significantly undervalued relative to our southern neighbour. Just look at a basket of consumer goods. They arc relatively the same, forgetting about the rale of exchange between U.S. and Canada. Add the exchange rate and you see how ridiculous the situation is. If this occurred over a long period of time we would have a tremendous influx of Americans seeking Canadian citizenship. Some have suggested we peg our exchange rate to that of the U.S. Most of South East Asia's current debacle is related to this policy. It always amazes me that so- called learned academics make these statements when the empirical evidence before them is so much against them. Pegging currency to anything, anything, with the possible exception of the scarce commodity commodity of gold is ludicrous, because it allows players to create a two-price system, a black market price and state price. Worse it would mean further integration of the U.S. and Canadian economics which is not in the best national interest of Canada. The Canadian dollar's downward projectile is related related to a multifaceted relationship. relationship. Here are some of the factors: International currency currency traders arc nervous especially especially about South East Asia (Japan) economics. This is somewhat absurd considering it is unlikely a car or a satellite satellite can be launched without Japanese component parts in North America. They think the U.S. buck is solid even though they have one of the highest debt to population ratios in the world. They think the Canadian economy is insignificant, which may be true, given we are only the eighth largest economy in the OECD. Canada's labour productivity productivity continues to decline relative to our U.S. counterpart, counterpart, (this is the most troubling troubling statistic, in short, we are less ingenious in using technology to advance manu facturing processes than our neighbours to the south). They think Canada's personal taxation is too high to result in sustained consumer demand, (which is true but improving) and finally, they don't understand the Canadian unity problem with Quebec (hut then neither do we). Getting back to the start of this article - how low can it go? Our foreign denominated debt is still substantial. It is unlikely we can sustain a significant significant lowering of the Canadian dollar without a traumatic increase in interest rates. The dollar's shortfall is both short-term and longterm longterm in nature. The shortterm shortterm factors will be played Parliamentary Report by Alex Shepherd out. The longer term ones, like unity and labour productivity, productivity, arc ones dial Canadians themselves need to address. Sigrid McDowell has joined the team at Bobctte Unisex Salon. If you consume less than 800 mg of calcium per day and drink two or more cups of regular coffee, you could be in a negative calcium balance. You would be losing more calcium than you are taking in. So Increase your calcium consumption and reduce your caffine-intake. Keeping your calcium levels high Is important to ensure good bone density and to minimize the risk of hip fractures later in life. From 70 - 90% of all hip fractures are due to osteoporosis. Of the 30% of elderly people who fall each year, 5 - 10% result in fractures. When someone says "You're all wet!", they arc probably right. The human body contains about eight gallons of water (about 65% of a person's weight). Recently in Florida, a doctor discovered that a whiff of alcohol will dispel nausea. They actually did a scientific study using isopropyl isopropyl alcohol and found out it actually worked. Evidently, if you don't have isopropyl alcohol around the house, a sniff of scotch will work as well. When there is something new in the field of pharmacy, chances are we will know about it.
