Roney. The inspector said he had two thoughts in mind when he decided to approach the man. He was concerned over the safety of bystanders who had begun to assemble and he also didn't know if there was, indeed, a fire inside the headquarters. Soon after jumping from the car, the Mountic was wounded. "He (the suspect) was just getting ready to plunge the knife at me again when Bob grabbed him," lie said. By the time he stood up, firefighters had the suspect on the ground, and within seconds, Durham Regional Police were there. Insp. Roney said his family seems to have recovered from the incident relatively unscathed. With the exception exception of the 11 stitches in his forehead. "Bob was a little upset (Wednesday) after we got talking talking about it, but he's fine," said Insp. Roney.
