These two teams know each other well, having played two pre-season exhibition games, a tournament, tournament, and one regular season season game. Everyone anticipated anticipated an exciting game and were not disappointed. Craig Procknow was excellent in goal, allowing Northumberland to score only once. David Ross was unstoppable, scoring three times to secure another win. The first goal was from a pass by Scott Miller, the second was unassisted, and the third was from a pass by Luke Pithcr. On August 11, Darlington Zellers travelled travelled to Osier Park in Agincourt to play Malvern. This game ended in a loss for Darlington with Malvern scoring three goals and Darlington scoring scoring none. Darlington hosted Leaside at Hydro Fields on August 18. Darlington worked hard for the 3-2 win. Brian Allorc scored first on an assist from Chris Jukic, David Ross scored two goals, his second second on an excellent pass from Kyle Harris. The Darlington team participated in a Whitby tournament on Aug. 22/23. In game one, Darlington met Markham, a Premier team. While Markham won 4-0, Darlington played tenaciously, tenaciously, stretching their skills and not giving up. Game two was against Northumberland, with Darlington scoring four goals to Northumberland's three. Chris Jukic scored three of the goals, two unassisted and one on a pass from Brandon Weigel. Matt McMillan scored once on a pass from Brandon Weigel. The third game was against Whitby, also a Premier team. This was a most outstanding game. While Darlington scored one goal and Whitby scored twice, the play was exciting throughout throughout the game. Clearly, Darlington was very competitive competitive throughout the entire game and played with skill and a lot of heart. Darlington's lone goal was scored by Stephen Phillips on an assist by Matt McMillan. Darlington placed third in their group. The first and second place teams advanced to the semi-finals.
