On Wednesday, August 26, the Lions annual corn roast was held at the home of Jean and Brcnlon Rickard. This is a fun night for the Lions and their guests. On September 9 all hands will be required to assemble the bingo tent at the Orono Fair Grounds. At 7 p.m. the Lions will meet at the tent site. Mrs. Eva Gibson, wife of the late Jack Gibson of Orono, was buried from the Newcastle Funeral Home on Monday, August 24. Both Eva and Jack were employed at the J.A. Smith factory here in Newcastle over forty years ago. Sympathy is extended to relatives and friends. On Sunday Greg and Dorclla Forget were among the 1147 car owners who had vehicles older than 1974 on display at the General motors Headquarters in Osltawa.
