Durham Co-op had ,a very attractive display and also was giving away 'bags of doggie food! The Junior Farmers' Club displays, as usual excellent in the Department of Agriculture bams, along with the Jr. and Sr. vegetable displays. The pumpkins were very large and I'm sure lots of pies are in the making! making! Other interesting sights and drawing much attention, the baby chicks (in incubator) incubator) for heat, young pigs, lambs and billie goats (cute wee guys). The poultry exhibits were down in number this year but excelled in quality! Now to the rabbit bams! An outstanding two day exhibit and exhibitors from ali over, plus all kinds of rabbits, big (really big and small), all colours. 365 in number! Judges were from the U.S.A. In the cattle displays, 5 breeds and one very outstanding outstanding display was the "Blonde D'Aquitanes" from Grand Lor Farms, Warkworth, Ontario. Excellent showing of young fat cattle. Now to my favourite department - the horses. The various breeds, Clydesdale, Belgians, Percherons, the hitched classes, the special four - horse hitches, six horse hitch, especially the unicorn hitch (six sets here), to we horse lovers, these displays are wonderful and to have so many teams taking taking part! The carriage classes classes equally attractive. Of course, the wee miniature horses arc really beautiful and I believe this is a new class of horses.
