But, really, it's only the costumes that are ugly. In fact, UGLY stands for Understanding Generous Lovable You. This plaque contains a poem written by Dick Watson of Wawa, Ontario as a tribute to his wing- mate, "Sandy" Colville of Bowmanvillc, Ont. The poignant words of the poem were so moving that several copies were requested and distributed. Both Dick and "Sandy" were Typhoon Pilots with the 440 Squadron of the RCAF. Alex, Freeborn (Bill) and "Sandy" (John) Colville were all RCAF pilots. In their honour representatives representatives of the RCAF Association, Ed McKay, President of the Canadian Fighter Pilot Association, their brother-in-law Hugh Mcchin of Kingston and niece Connie Hooey of Orono will be in attendance. attendance. Bill Calver of Newcastle, who is a history buff, researched and initiated initiated both the first and second second plaques and although the plaques focus on the Colville brothers the dedi cation is for all those who served and did not come back, both civilian and service service personnel. Mr. Calver was also instrumental in acquiring the needed funds for the second plaque. During the war several RCAF squadrons were assigned to training bases in England and when they realized a plaque was being presented presented to some of those young men the town of Linlon- on-Ousc and surrounding communities also generously generously contributed to this plaque.
