Obituary MARTIN Yvonne Nita (nee Meyers) Born June 19, 1924 in Uxbridge Uxbridge Township to Issac Meyers and Ellen (Gould), died at Bowmanville Hospital, Hospital, September 4, 1998 after a brief bout of leukemia. Yvonne married Ed R. (Ted) Martin in 1939 and enjoyed 57 years with him until his death In 1996. Four children were raised and many other children and adults were cared for over the years in her home. She resided in many Ontario areas Including Including Pickering, Orono, Newcastle, Newcastle, Woodville and Mill- brook. Her surviving siblings are Les Meyers of Uxbridge, Bea Norton of Claremont, June Dadson of Brace- bridge, Joyce Upton of Woodville, Irene Boyle of Richmond Hill, Ruth Davies of Gilford. Predeceased by Florabelle and Harold. Funeral Funeral services were held September 7, 1998 at the Morris Funeral Chapel, Bowmanville Bowmanville with Rev. D. Stiles presiding and music by Mr. R. Metcalf. Pallbearers were Dwayne Glasbergen and five grandsons - Ted Martin, Dan Martin, Gary Martin, Dwayne Martin and Paul Boundy. There were many beautiful floral arrangements and donations donations to various charities. Interment at Orono Cemetery. Cemetery. Local Church Hosts Global Satellite Event Beginning October 9 at 7:15 p.m., the Bowmanville Seventh-day Adventist Church will host a satellite Bible seminar broadcasting to thousands of locations spread across the six inhabited continents of the world. Thought to be the most extensive satellite Bible seminar in the history history of the Christian church, the transcontinental seminar will have simultaneous translation of more than 40 languages languages and is closed captioned. To accomplish this, the translators - most of them ministers ministers - will exchange their own pulpits for five-weeks of special-duty ministry in a Michigan church basement. Transmitting side by side in specially built cubicles they'll offer the lectures in a rich and varied menu including Swahili, Spanish, Pidgin and Portuguese. Dwight K. Nelson, internationally known speaker and author, is the speaker for the "NcXt Millenium Seminar: Finding a Forever Friendship with God". Nelson, is senior pastor of the Pioneer Memorial Church and Andrew University in Berrien Springs, Michigan, where the scries will originate. The Seventh-day Adventist initiative will broadcast to some 5000 locations globally and 2500 video sites, to sites ranging from a tent in Arkansas to church audiences of 3,000, In a few areas, home viewers will watch opening sessions on local broadcast stations; elsewhere, the scries will be broadcast on systems blanketing entire regions. In Brazil and the Solomon Islands, tens of thousands will attend in large outdoor stadia. The seminar's theme focuses on what the Bible has to say about God's desire to have personal relationships with 6.2 billion earth dwellers as the new millenium approaches, approaches, The public is invited at all sites.
