The victory concluded an undefeated season for the co-ed team. Members of the team arc, front row, (1-r), Brad Farrow, Troy Forscy, Paul Bridger, Lance Green, Kyle Draper, Matt Hebert. Middle row, (1-r), Tim Stevens, Katie Turvill, Sally Bcllerosc, Nathan Murray, Mark Stone, Chris Fischer, Tyler LcBlanc. Back row, (1-r), Kristie Vajda, Leah Farr, Emily Scofficld, Mandy Brown, Scott Miller, Lucas Beech, Amanda Miller, Sascha King, Linda Spoclstra (coach). Absent were Jeff Luckai, John Ralphe (coach). Top Runners from Vincent Massey The Vincent Massey harrier team reccnlty competed in the area championships held at the Ganaraska Forest Centre. Other schools that were represented included Dr. Ross Tilley, Central, Lord Elgin, Waverley and Ontario Street. National Sports continues continues to roll with two more victories last week, an 8-4 victory over Pickering and a 3-0 shutout over Oshawa. In the Pickering game, goaltcnder Adam Hawke came up big early in the 3rd period when National Sports was outshot 11-3. He held the fort and National Sports forwards finally got it going with four late third period goals to take over the game. Derek McGrath led the scoring with 2 goals while single goal scorers for National Sports were Mark Lemieux, Mark Bonin, Chris McDaniel, Mike Kari, Joe Castellano and Darren Kelly. High Average Men - Peter Flonk 203. Roy's Enterprise Novices Shut Out Lindsay 8-0 The Roy's Enterprise Minor Novice "A" Toros -continued their winning ways as they played host to Lindsay. The Toros jumped on their guests early, as Josh Sullivan banged in a rebound off of a Brett Chapman wrap-around attempt on a play set-up by some aggressive forechccking by Andrew Moore. Michael Albertini upped the margin to a two- goal advantage, as he finished finished off a beautiful three- way passing play with Tyler Neil and Justin Bowles. The sec-saw battle battle saw no more scoring until the latter stages of the second period when Jeff Feldcamp staked the boys to a 3-0 lead converting a Garrett Scatterty pass. Both Toro goaltendcrs, Peter Hamilton and Nathan Flint, had to come up big on a number of occasions. The third period belonged entirely to "Roy's Boys", as they fired five unanswered goals, enroute to an 8-0 final and their third straight shutout. Eric Dcvera opened up the 3rd period barrage with a goal set-up by a pair of passes by Scatterty and Mark Vandcrmecr. Rounding out the scoring were Feldcamp and Sullivan, each notching notching their second of the game and William Generals Split Weekend Games The Oshawa Generals split a pair of home games last weekend. The Gens were doubled doubled by Belleville 6-3 Friday night, but bounced back to drop Windsor 11-5 Sunday. Brent Gauvreau, Brandon Coalter and Richard Spence notched goals in Friday night's losing losing cause. Derrell Upton managed a hat-trick while Kevin Colley and Brad Ralph each had a pair in Sunday's win. Bryan Allen, Jonah Leroux, Brandon Cullen and Brian Passmore all added singles. singles. The Toro's next contest saw them travel to Ajax, hoping to hand the first place Warriors their first loss of the season. The game started well for the Toros, as Neil took a Minnema pass at the blue- line, knifed passed a defender and snapped a low drive inside the post. Also picking up an assist on the play was defence- man Bowles, with some diligent work along the boards. Ajax drew even, with a goal of their own finishing off a breakaway opportunity with a top corner corner effort. Midway through the second period, Ajax pulled ahead 2-1, looking to keep their unblemished record intact. With three seconds left in the middle frame, Brett Chapman fired a power- play marker to even the score. Picking up assists on the play were line- mates, Sullivan and Moore. As had happened in "Roy's" first, trip to Ajax, the Novices suffered a letdown letdown in the third period. The fast-skating Ajax club took full advantage and fired 4 goals in succession over a 5 minute span to jump out to a comfortable 6-2 lead. Late in the game, the Toros narrowed the gap to a 3 goal margin, as Chapman completed the scoring, notching his second second of the night, banging in a goalmouth rebound off of a Moore blast. The loss brought the Minor Novice "A"s five game winning streak to a halt and evened their regular regular season record at 4-4. During their successful run, the Toros had ou [scored their opponents by a whopping 36-2 margin, margin, racking up 3 shutouts in the process. ? National Sports got outstanding outstanding goaltending again from Chris Wood in our second game of the week, stopping 25 Oshawa shots for the shutout.
