Peace Poster Prize Winners Winners and runners-up in the local arm of the Lions' International Peace Poster Contest gathered last week at the Visual Arts Centre in Bowmanvillc to collect their prizes. The local contest was sponsored by Lions Clubs in Bowmanvillc, Newcastle and Courtice, and was part of the pARTners program through the VAC. The first place posters in the local contest will go on to the second round, and could go through three more rounds of international competition if declared the international grand prize winner. winner. On Thursday morning around 1:00 a.m. the victim was walking south on the east side of Waverley Street in the area of Strike Avenue. At this time, she was grabbed from behind and dragged under a tree on the front lawn of a residence where she was viciously sexually assaulted. During the attack the complainant was successful in partially freeing herself from her assailant's grip. The attacker then stopped the assault and fled the scene running in a northerly direction. The victim secured the assistance of a nearby resident who notified the police. The suspect in this incident is described as male, approximate height of 5 foot 9 inches with an average build. .He was wearing a black or navy balaclava, a- dark hooded sweater, hiking boots and a thick belt.
