Francis Williams, who died earlier this year, had helped the students in many ways, including the sale of hand-made crafts such as wooden birdhouses and wishing-wclls, whose proceeds were turned over to the special needs students. Funds raised through his generosity over the past 12 years, went to such things as computers, special outings and recreational activities, including bowling. Last week, Mr.'Williams' nephew, Bob Hibben, presented the school with a picture of a blacksmith at work. A plaque accompanying the needlepoint picture will be permanently permanently on display at the school to recognize Mr. Williams. Born in Wales in 1908, he came to Canada as a Barnardo Home orphan and worked as a farmhand before becoming becoming a blacksmith in Greenbank.
