Waverley Grade Eight Class Raises Over $300 Nickels, dimes, quarters and other loose change certainly adds up. That's what Class 82 at Waverley Public School discovered this fall when they raised $333.25 for the Cancer Society's Terry Fox fund-raising campaign. The students, who arc pictured above, collected the money by bringing in spare change. Bowmanville Toastmasters An enthusiastic throng helped Bowmanvillc Toastmasters celebrate their eleventh anniversary on the tenth of November 1998. Among our distinguished distinguished guests were M.P.P. John O'Toole, Regional Councillor Mary Novak, Penny Waghorne, Public Affairs Officer Darlington Hydro and Donna McFarlane Public Affairs Manager Darlington Hydro. Members from Lindsay and Oshawa clubs joined with friends and family to share the celebration. A highlight of the evening was the keynote speaker, Ross Mackay, an internationally acclaimed speaker. The heart of Ross's message was a reminder that each of us must focus on a goal, being mindful of the milestones milestones along the way as checks that we remain on track. His enthusiastic humour was like the spoonful of sugar helping the message go down. A BIG thank you to members and friends whose support has been so vital to our success. Come and visit us any Tuesday evening 7:30 - 9:30. We meet at the Darlington Hydro Information Centre Bowmanvillc. For more info call 623- 3527 or 623-2243.
