The ACW Christmas party will be held on December 4th at 6 p.m. The ACW arc catering for the Newcastle Seniors Summer Games Raise $2,000 for Hospital About 220 residents of the Wilmol Creek retirement community participated in this year's Summer Games which took place in July. The games raised a total of almost $2,000. Last week, a presentation of the proceeds was made to the Memorial Hospital Foundation. The money will be used in ophthalmology at Lakeridge Health Bowmanvillc. It will help to purchase cataract surgery instruments. instruments. She is surrounded by youngsters as they helped her sing Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and Jingle Bells. Many colourful lights adorned the trees at the Newcastle Town Hall. Children were excited to see Santa and gave him some requests for Christmas. Enniskillen News Over 40 Attend Seniors 7 Dinner by Betty Wright On November 18th the U.C.W. hosted the Annual Seniors Dinner. Over 40 people sat down to a bountiful bountiful lunch. Lois Nimigon greeted and welcomed everyone. Lois asked the blessing before we started our lunch. After lunch we had a Christmas reading from Aileen McLaughlin. Then, we all enjoyed Christmas carols with Ray Ashton at the keyboard, followed by a reading by Lois Nimigon. After some visiting, we all parted, hoping to be back next year. Many thanks to the kitchen staff who served and cleaned up in a very efficient manner. A Christmas Penny Sale will be held at Enfield Church basement on Thursday, November 26, 1998. Doors will open at 6:00 p.m. and the draw time will be 7:30 p.m. Admission includes a light lunch. Enfield's Annual Community Christmas Pot Luck dinner will be held on Thursday, December 3rd at 6:30 p.m. All are welcome. Bowmanville Toastmasters Three guests joined Bowmanvillc Toastmasters for the meeting on November 17, 1998. Toastmaster Gordon West offered thoughtful challenges challenges to each of the impromptu speakers. Toastmaster Karen Martin was selected as the best Table Topics speaker thereby winning the first of the three trophies awarded at the meeting. Chairman Toastmaster Irene Konzclmann kept the meeting focused with her theme "Perception".
