Funds raised by the sale of the trees will help fund the Optimists' community projects. Enniskillen News Christmas Pageant December 20 by Betty Wright On Sunday, December 13th we held our White Gift and Mitten Tree service. service. Our church was full to capacity for this service. We would like to thank all those who contributed towards all the White Gifts and to everyone who gave items for Mitten Tree. It was loaded again this year as usual. On Sunday, December 20th join us for our Musical Christmas Pageant. Familiar tunes, new words and lots of smiles as the children of the Sunday School share the Christmas story. Worship and fun for the whole family. family. A Community Musical Christmas Pageant written by Denise Walker and Norm Sell presented by the Sunday Schools of Enniskillen and Tyrone United Churches. We will have songs, we will laugh and we will hear the Christmas Story told as if, for the first lime. The pageant pageant is Sunday, December 20th, at 6:30 p.m. at the Tyrone Community Centre. The combined choirs of Maranalha Christian Reformed Church and the First Baptist Church in Oshawa will be presenting their Annual Christmas Concert. On December 19th, the concert will be held in Bowmanvillc at 8 p.m. and on the 20th in Oshawa at 7 p.m. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to the Editor and Staff of The Canadian Statesman. Christmas Eve services arc Thursday, December 24th, at 6:30 p.m. at Enniskillen United Church. This is a special evening Candle Light service for everyone. U.C.W. The U.C.W. Christmas dinner was held December 9th in the Sunday School Room. When everyone was seated, Marie Sharp welcomed welcomed everyone and Ella Bowman asked the blessing. blessing. We were served an excellent and abundant meal by the "Catering Kin". Thirty four ladies and one gentleman enjoyed the dinner and the program. Marie gave the Devotion taken from Luke. Ruth McGill read a poem, "My Christmas Wish". We had a Christmas parcel wrapped and as it was passed from table to table each layer was unwrapped and was responded to from the note found inside. A nice Christmas game. Ray Ashton played for us as we sang Chrstmas carols. We signed several cards for our absent friends. Ruth thanked those who helped with gifts and Ray for playing. Marie closed the meeting with a reading, "Persons arc Gifts". We left wishing everyone Happy Holidays. Bowmanville W.l. Enjoys Annual Christmas Meeting The December meeting of the Bowmanvillc W.l. was held on December 3 at noon in Trinity Church Hall. We began with a delicious turkey dinner served by the catering group of the church. After dinner, the President thanked the catering group and proceeded with the meeting. meeting. The President welcomed everyone then the singing of O Canada and the Institute Ode. Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Thank you from Tracy Bird, from Bowmanville High School who received our bursary last month, also from Louise Bell for the W.l. making her a Life Member. Treasurer's report was given, Roll Call 'A Christmas verse, poem or greeting was well answered. We were then entertained by Donna Chasse from Mitchell's Corners who sang two lovely Christmas songs "Merry Christmas To You" and "Christmas Is Magic". They were enjoyed by all. Emily then conducted two contests. Carols were sung by all, with Louise Bell, Donna Chasse and I.enore Nichols in charge. Meeting closed with all repeating the Mary Stewart Collect.
