Oshawa will return to action on Sunday, December 27, when they host Kingston at 6:30 p.m. Best Game Of Season For J&M On Saturday, December 19th J&M Tire of the CRIIL's Novice Division improved their record to 5 and 3 with their best show of the season in a 6-2 victory over "TD Evergreen". The game started evenly, and it wasn't until 6:18 of the 1st when Matthew Button deked the goalie to put J&M Tire 1-0. Two minutes minutes later Kyle DeVries extended the lead. TD Evergreen got one back before the 1st intermission. In the 2nd period J&M took control. They scored three unanswered goals in a 1 1/2 minute span - two by Matthew Button and another by Kyle DeVries. TD Evergreen closed the gap to 5-2 with a goal with one second second to go in the period. The 3rd period saw J&M Tire score the only goal - Matthew Button once again gelling on the score sheet. Assists went to Alex Monaghan (I), Joe Fernandes (2), Timothy Kay (3), Kyle DeVries (I), Braydon Aloe (I), Zach Kirkhy (I), and Shaync Petrusma (I). Orono Markham Label Peewees Win Third Tourney Championship The Orono Markham Label Peewees captured their third tournament "A" championship championship on Saturday in Warsaw. They defeated Almaguin 7-1 in the first game, league rival Woodville 6-0 in the second game and St. Johns 9-1 in the championship championship game. Jesse Price started the scoring for Orono against Almaguin as he scored in the first minute of play on a solo effort. Tanner Millson notched the second Leaf goal from Kyle Cox and Matt Barnes and Jesse Gimblett made it 3-0 on a Curt Robinson setup. Almaguin managed to beat Kevin Martin for their only goal of the game at the six-minute mark of the first period but Orono answered that with 4 more of their own. Chris Moffat scored the fourth goal from Kyle Allin while Kyle Cox notched Orono's fifth marker from Kyle Searle. Orono faced off against a familiar opponent in the sec ond game as they took on league rival Woodville. a team they had defeated 6-1 earlier in the week in a league contest. This game proved to be no different as the Leafs rolled to a 6-0 victory. Jesse Gimblett led the way with 3 goals and an assist. Curt Robinson had 4 assists and a goal while Kyle Allin had 2 goals and an assist. Tyson Gimblett also contributed 2 helpers. Jamie Whitehead got the shutout for the Orono squad.
