The Major Atom "A" Toros team sponsored by Webco Crane and Hoist hit the Christmas break with a bang, winning 5 of a possible possible 6 points in Lakcshorc league play to end the month of December, scoring 16 goals in the process. Clarington travelled to Trenton on Sunday, December 20 and found themselves involved in a real crash and bang game, as the home town Hawks tried to manhandle the visitors. However, the Bulls refused to be intimidated and trampled trampled on the Hawks 6-3. The line of Jordan Bcaudric, Ryan Webb and Ryan Brcakcy led the stampede stampede with 5 points, as centre Bcaudric' scored a pair of goals, winger Ryan Brcakcy finally breaking the jinx scoring his first goal of the season to lift a big weight off his shoulders and Ryan Webb adding a pair of assists. Salvvay, Bradburn and Rogers also combined for 4 points, as Kurds Salway and Marc Rogers each scored a goal, while Corey Bradburn was once again in the role of play- maker setting up both line- mate's goals. Tyler Ferguson rounded out the Toro scoring, with an assist to winger Brad Farrow. Defenceman Alex Ley was also in on the offensive explosion, as Ley picked up 3 assists and also handed out several punishing body checks. Matthew Smith, Trevor Graham and Mike Syer were also in high gear as they kept the Trenton forwards forwards in constant turmoil in front of the net. Goaltendcrs Robbie Goddard and Matthew Cooper played strongly in the net, especially especially during several short handed handed situations. On Saturday, December 19, Clarington hosted Port Hope in yet another grudge match, as both teams came out scoring and hitting. When the final buzzer sounded, the score was tied at 5-5. The line of Ferguson, Murray and Farrow led the attack with 6 points, as cap- lain Tyler Ferguson bagged a pair of goals and winger Brad Farrow scoring the highlight of the night on a rising shot from the slot. Nathan Murray's hustle and drive paid off with 2 assists. Jordan Bcaudric and Marc Rogers each added singles. Corey Bradburn, returning from an injury, made his presence fell with grit and determination as he also picked up an assist. Matthew Cooper held the fort in goal to preserve the tic. On Wednesday, December 16, the Bulls travelled to Ajax and totally dominated the home town Knights to give their goalies Robbie Goddard and Matthew Cooper an early Christmas present in the form a a 5-0 shutout. The defensive unit of Trevor Graham, Jesse Aide, Matthew Smith and Tyler Beers, a newcomer to the defense who just keeps improving every game, kept the Ajax forward out of close scoring range all night to help earn the shutout. Jesse Aide scored his first goal of the season on a long shot from the point to open the scoring only 20 seconds into the game to set the pace for the rest of his teammates. Kurt is Salway quickly made his presence known with a nice rush to score the first of his two goals. Jordan Bcaudric and Ryan Webb rounded out the scoring for the Toros. Jesse Aide. Alex Ley. Courtice Health Battles Parents On Saturday, December 19, 1998 the Courticc Health Centre hockey team played a kids against parents game at Bowmanvillc arena. The boys played a tough game against an awesome team of parents. The parents came out slow, down by 3 goals early, but came back fighting to take the lead late in the game. According to the referee in charge the game somehow ended in a tie. The player of the game for both sides was Keith Colterinan who was the lone goaltendcr and saved the kids from a huge loss in the second half of the game. for a super holiday,..The joy of the season keeps on building--just like our appreciation and thanks.
