The President called the meeting to order with O'Canada and the Institute Ode. The minutes of the December meeting were read and approved. Treasurer's report was given. Business arising from the minutes was taken care of. Four members were invited to attend Solina's 95th anniversary celebration celebration on January 10, 1998. The Roll Call "What do you hope to learn in the New Year?" was well answered. Keeping a diary or starting one seemed a popular project. Sympathy is extended to his wife Muriel, his family David Wotten, Pat Millson, Joan Argue, Carol Gray and Tom Wottcn all of this community and Norma Lott of Courtiec as well as to their spouses and families. Also sympathy to Henry's three sisters, Ruby Johnson, Helen Bradburn and Dorothy Archer all of this community, their families as well as to his many, many friends. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday at the Wagg Funeral Chapel in Port Perry. Sympathy also to the Bowers family members on the untimely passing of Earl Bowers after a lengthy illness. illness. Cecil and Marie Gibson attended the funeral of Ccc's cousin Mrs. Donna Ward (nee Graham) in Cobourg on Tuesday. Donna was the daughter of the late Don and Jean Graham of Millbrook and one-time residents of Blackstock. Sympathy to Helen Nesbitt and her family on the passing last week of her husband husband Maurice. His funeral was held on Saturday at Low and Low Funeral Chapel in Port Perry. Pleased to report that Roy Turner and Lois Luke arc both home from hospital. Blackstock was well represented represented at the annual convention convention of the Ontario Association of Agricultural Societies held at the Royal York Hotel. Representing Blackstock were Marilyn Green, Ann Julia Bajema, Merrill and Jean VanCamp, Barry VanCamp, Helen Dorrell, Eileen McLaughlin, Ailccn VanCamp, Wilma VanCamp, Gerald and Joyce Kelly. Joyce and Gerald remained until Sunday attending the Canadian Association of Fairs and Exhibitions Convention immediately following the Ontario convention.
