For the balance of the game, they slammed the door shut on the Eagles and skated away with a 2-1 victory. The Clarington Tykes finished off a successful January campaign with a trip into Uxbridge. Nicholas Diachenko opened the scoring late in the first period with assists going to Matthew Pcdcn and Brett Chapman. He continued to display a hot hand as he notched the game's second goal, helpers going to Brady Burns and Danny Arnott. Goalie Zack Higgins nailed down his sixth league shutout with the 4-0 victory. He gained his first point of the year with an assist on the game's third goal. The Eagles opened up the month of February on the road against Richmond Hill. It was the Richmond Hill Tykes who jumped out to a 2-0 lead midway through the game as they cashed in on a pair of breakaway opportunities. opportunities. Clarington was frustrated time after time by the opposing nctminder as he robbed both Danny Arnott and Kyle Robertson with spectacular saves. Late in the second period, the Eagles finally got on the board as Justin Bowles scored on a wrap-around as defenceman Chad McPaul had fought off two attackers to keep the puck inside the bluclinc. The Eagles continued continued to press, and midway through the third, Brady Burns pounced on the rebound and tucked it into the net scoring scoring the equalizer. Richmond Hill stormed back to once again take the lead as they capitalized on a two-on-none break. It looked like this goal would stand up as the game winner untifNicholas Diachenko took a Matthew Peden breakaway pass with a minute left and snapped one home to salvage a 3-3 tie. The Eagles' next challenge would come at the hands of the Unionville Tykes. The Clarington Tykes jumped out to an early lead as sniper Nicholas Diachenko made no mistake as he was sent in all alone by a Brett Chapman pass.
