All the family were at the home of Ronald and Hazel May Munro for birthday dinner on January 24th. On Monday afternoon, February 1st, 1909, at Ncwtonvillc United Church, Mary Wade was honoured on her 80th birthday. Mary was supported by Iter son, Grant and Brenda, of Bridgenorth and brother Bcv Henderson and his wife Marg, of Campbcllford. Many friends, relatives and fellow fellow Lodge members were in attendance. Even though Mary moved away from Ncwtonvillc 25 years ago, Mr. Frank Stapleton gave a glowing speech about Mary's neigh- bourlincss and community- minded traits, and presented her with a gift from the Ncwtonvillc people. On display at the party were birthday certificates certificates and messages from the city of Barrie (where she resides) from Prime Minister Jean Chretien, Premier Mike Harris and Aileen Carroll, M.P. Two beautiful dresses worn by Anna Vincent, wife of Chester Massey, were kindly donated by Hart's wife, Melodic and were on display then as they arc now. Pat showed and told about many of the artifacts donated by Melodic Massey. The family Bible contains' a great deal of family history. Jack Eilbeck donated the autographed book The Stuff Men are Made Of by Denton Massey. Of interest was the price of a complete funeral arranged by his Grandfather Eilbeck in 1908 - $740. Dorothy Snowden was our lay reader. The choir number was "Beautiful World-Wonderful World". Reverend Munro led in the installation of officers, the children's story and his message message to us, "Daring Discipleship". Try the service some day - the seals are comfortable. Sunday at noon the Warner and Ycllowlees families were at the home of Dennis and Karen Ycllowlees in North Ncstlcton for dinner and to help Ron Warner (#?) and Jennifer Ycllowlees (#9) celebrate their birthdays. St. George's News On Friday, February 5, 1999, St. George's held a Praise and Song evening. Ruth Knight, guitarist, provided the music which gave the service a moving and spirit-filled evening. The scripture readings were from Acts and Colossians, Paul's teachings on a spirit- filled community.
