David Chisling at Newcastle United Church. Reception was held in the Sunday School Hall. Out of town guests included the bride's uncle and aunt, Earl and Marcia Brown, of Florida, and sister-in- law Mrs. David Brown and sons Andrew and Alexander, of California. UCW Sunshine Unit Fourteen members of the Newcastle UCW Sunshine unit met Monday evening, March 8th at the home of Elizabeth Chidley. While the members were gathering, dessert, lea and coffee were enjoyed. Chair Hazel May Munro opened the meeting with a prayer entitled, Song of Awakening after which the UCW purpose was repealed. Minutes of the February meeting meeting were read and approved and the Treasurer's Report was given. The members picked up enthusiastically on Chairman Toastmaster Karen Martin's theme. The table topics wove a yarn that grew with each speaker as a ball of yarn was thrown at the next Toastmaster selected to to speak. Toastmaster Brian Forrest was selected as the best impromptu speaker. Toastmaster Yvonne Connor presented her "Ice Breaker" in a trophy winning effort. A debate rounded off the session on the virtue of changing the colour for St. Patrick's Day from green to purple.
