The Newcastle and Clarke branches each get a pair of bean bag chairs and the Bowmanville Branch was given a toy and carpet for the children's area. We talked about what we arc going to do on June 19 and how we arc going to set up our different different 4-H exhibits. We were all given our flyers to put in all the surrounding schools. We talked about different different things to entertain the people that come to the Bowmanville Museum on June 19. We discussed discussed what type of marketing club we arc. We arc a promotion club. Later that evening we went to work by putting together scrapbooks scrapbooks to show at the museum on the history of 4-H and the present present 4-H. The next meeting of the 4-H Marketing club was to be held on May 5 at the the Bowman's home at 7:30. Spring Concert at Trinity United Church A wonderful evening of choral music took place at Trinity United Church Sunday evening, May 2. Hats off to John Crookshank and company company for presenting a first-class concert from the church's three choirs, with the assistance from Rosemary Merkley, Joanne Crookshank and Margaret Munday and outstanding soloists. This was indeed a memorable evening of splendid music all around. A hearty thanks - You arc not taken for granted. The church should have been filled. While expressing thanks, I should mention Douglas Dcwell who is responsible responsible for bringing outstanding talent to the Town - re: the St. Paul's Concert Series, we are certainly blessed in Bowmanville. We have drama, dance, high school bands and choirs, Pipe Band and our churches who provide fine music for the soul. I'm sure I say thanks for everyone. Ross S. Metcalf lillions Approved for Lakeridge Health Oshawa After nearly ten years of planning, the redevelopment project at Lakeridge Health Oshawa got final approvals from Ministry of Health and the Ontario Government Tuesday, May 4. Announcing the start of ; the project, Honourable Jim [ Flaherty MPP for Durham ■ 1 Centre and Minister of ! Labour, spoke to staff, physicians, volunteers and members of the community in attendance for the ground breaking for the new North Wing. Mr. Flaherty was joined by local MPPs, John O'Toole, Jerry Ouellette, Janet Eckcr and Julia Munro to confirm that Phase I pri ority projects (the First Wave), include: North Wing - emergency department, critical care and surgical suite, North Infill - new main entrance, dialysis and other patient services, South Infill - ambulatory/outpatient ambulatory/outpatient clinics, Renovations - patient units 6G, 5F, 6F. Following Health Services Restructuring Commission directions, $54.4 million has been committed committed by the Ministry towards the $92.3 million project. This is a very exciting day." The third piece of good news is the Pinewood Centre Community Addiction services has received the go ahead to redevelop the Centre Street site. Ministry of Health will provide $3 million of the $4 million required for this important facility which will be rebuilt to accommodate accommodate 20 in patients.
