FRIDAY, MAY 21 ART INSTALLATION -- Everyone is invited to attend the opening of an art installation at Soper Creek Park this Friday, May 21, at 7:00 p.m. The sculptural installation will be unveiled outside the Cream of Barley Mill. The piece is based on spillway gates used to block debris from entering the wheel well of a mill. Artist, Cynthia Harper will arrive in Bowmanville earlier in the week to install the structure, which has been specially specially designed with the history of the Cream of Barley Mill in mind. The Art on Public Lands Project is a joint endeavour between the VAC and the Municipality of Clarington. THURSDAY, MAY 27 AIDS CONFERENCE -- The AIDS Committee of Durham announces that the 2nd annual 'HIV/AIDS Care In Durham' conference will be held on May 27 and 28 at the Holiday Inn, 1011 Bloor Street East, Oshawa. While this is an educational educational conference aimed at health care/social service professionals and HIV+ people, it is open to the public; There is a registration fee of $45 (free to HIV+ people).
