Durham Riding Returning Officer Ralph Werry said the notices were sent Wednesday to all known eligible voters in the area. Registration notices should include the name of the voter as well as the electoral electoral district and location of the poll where they are to vote. For the first time this year, Elections Ontario is not. using door-to-door canvassers canvassers to compile the voters' voters' list, except in some specially-designated, specially-designated, high mobility areas. Instead, Elections Ontario " and Elections Canada are working working together to compile a Permanent Register of Electors for Ontario. During the election, the revision process will allow qualified voters whose names were not included on the preliminary list to have their names added and vote at advance polls or on election election day. Werry says anyone who hasn't received their Notice of Registration card by the end of next week should call the returning office at 623- 8347. . This is also the first provincial election using newly-formed electoral boundaries. The riding which includes Clarington was called Durham East. It is now known simply as Durham Riding, and follows follows the same boundaries as the federal constituency. Werry says, so far, there are more than 73,000 voters registered in the riding. "Every day we're adding to that... the figure is rising as we speak," lie says. r elelymùi 50 (A L. emel CfàelAij' May 21 st, 1949 With love from Rick, Barb, Greg and Erin; Cathy and Keith Burning Hydro Pole Causes Power Outage Orono and area residents were left in the dark for up to nine hours Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning.
