The Clarington/Courticc Independent, Bowmanvillc, Friday, June 4, 1999 Pace 4 Green Gaels Face Tough Test It will be a battle of the best tonight (Friday) as the Clarington Green Gaels face the newest entry in the league, Onondaga (near Syracuse), in an Ontario Lacrosse Association Jr. B regular season game at the Recreation Complex in Bowmanvillc. Game time is 8:30 p.m. The Green Gaels enter the game as the top team in their division, sporting a perfect 7-0 record to start the season. In those seven victories, they have dominated dominated the opposition, holding holding a 101-32 edge in goals scored. The defending National Champions arc also getting the job done at the defensive end. They haven't allowed an opponent opponent to score more than six goals in any game, and appear on their way to a third straight title for having the lowest goals against average in the league. Their opponents tonight, Onondaga, arc the top team- in their division with an impressive record of 10-1. One of Onondaga's best players, Drew Bucktooth, may be a familiar name to local hockey fans. Bucktooth spends his winters winters in the Durham Region as a member of the Ontario Hockey League's Oshawa Generals. "This game will be a real test for us. Onondaga have a veteran and talented club," said Green Gaels head coach Dave Edgar. Clarington's game that was scheduled for this past Tuesday in Scarborough was postponed due to wet floor conditions at Centennial Arena in Scarborough. The game has been rescheduled for Wednesday, June 23 in Scarborough.
